It is a tremendous resource for anyone who enjoys old railroad, fire, barn and driving lanterns because it includes the full line of lanterns (and parts) available from the Dietz company at that time.

It gives all kinds of specifications on specific models, including height, volume of light, size of wick, name/colors of globe and burner, and fount capacity, along with the style of finish available (often "bright tin").

Just reading this catalog is a glimpse into history: There is a section on Motor Truck Lamps and a page on packaging ("travel by rail, water or by mule back"). The Traffic Signal Lantern, with ruby and green lenses is offered because "remote indeed are the communities where traffic signals of some kind are not now required."

Again, this is a photocopy -- but it is such a terrific resource for collectors of early lanterns, we wanted to make it available.
