Description
This is a rare complete set of the series edited (and mostly written) by steam locomotive expert Brian Reed. Two hardcover volumes, and fourteen individual profiles. Each profile is 24 pages.

Profiles 1-12 were published in Volume 1. Profiles 13-24 are in Volume 2. The remaining profiles Nos. 25 through 37, and the unnumbered Special on the RHD miniature railroad, were only published as individual pamphlets.

These booklets were published by Profile Publications in Britain during the seventies. They are very well-illustrated, with black-and-white and color drawings. The dust jackets for the hardcover volumes are in excellent condition. Volume 1 is Mylar jacketed; Volume 2 is in its original box. The loose profiles are in very good to excellent condition.

The unnumbered Special Profile on the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch miniature railway is the rarest profile. This miniature passenger-carrying railway was established in 1927 and is still running! (Google them to see their very nice website.) During the Second World War, one of their trains was armored (armoured, I should say) and used for coastal patrol. The profile has a photo of what must surely be the smallest and narrowest gauge armored train ever.

Free shipping within the US, actual cost to other countries.
